IBST Student Council

What is Student Council?

The Student Council is a student organization that acts as a representative of student opinions within school matters. The role of the Student Council is to provide a medium of communication between the student body and school administration. Furthermore, Student Council enhances student life by holding various events throughout the school year (such as our Halloween competition, Christmas Party, Prom and more!)

What does a member of Student Council do?

Members of StuCo act as role models for fellow students, communicate student opinions, take part in decisions that impact the student body, hold events for student enjoyment and help foster community and school spirit within IBST. Members must attend weekly Student Council meetings and help plan and prepare various school events.

How does Student Council work?

Since the Student Council is a student organization, the majority of decisions are made by the members after discussion. Student Council is composed of a group of carefully selected students who meet every week to discuss issues in school as well as prepare events for our students. Members of StuCo discuss openly and share their opinions during these meetings, and vote on decisions that affect the student body. StuCo also has a Facebook group that notifies members of important information and holds polls.
